Congrats @dtbellevue for their 3 year anniversary! Posting the latest news on all the developments of Downtown Bellevue with the latest shopping, happy hour and events. Michael Brandt and Lea Lo are the pioneers of Bellevue blogging and have been a great mentor to me.
Their party took place May 25, 2010 at the new Avalon Towers 15th Floor with Barrio/Heavy Restaurant Group catering.
To go along with one of the things I want to push for, here is what I wore.
Zara Blazer, Zara skirt, Club Monaco Sweater, Zara bag, Shoes.com Thighhighs
I’ve always been a huge fan of Scott Schumann from the Sartorialist blog. In a recent post, he had stated in the Italian Vogue Pelle that Giovanna Battaglia (Fashion Director of Vogue Pelle and Sartorialist Super-All-Star) loved the idea of the photographer/blogger being more stylishly dressed than the subjects of the photo.
Therefore, there’s a whole spread of images based upon that idea of stylish photographers than the photographed subject.
The video above has inspired me to take something full on. Come back by the end of the month to see…
It was only a couple of years ago when ‘wearing rainboots’ in Rainy Pacific Northwest or the Greater Puget Sound was just not very “cool.”
“Com’on! We’re Seattle! We can handle the rain.” (NOT)!
With that same mentality of being tough in the rain I step foot outside my New York apartment and the rain was absolutely disgusting.
Imagine walking the streets of Manhattan in the rain that falls horizontally. The same rain that evaporated from the rat poop that was on the sidewalk, not to mention all the other garbage.
The Eastside’s Asian population is definitely making a statement. Therefore it’s natural to bring their oversea’s fashion onto Bellevue/Eastside turf.
The one trend that is hard for me to accept is one that I saw regularly when visiting Korea and Japan, the idea of ‘Couple Tees’ or Couples Dressing Alike.
As I was looking for images to give you a better visualization of what it is that I’m talking about it was interesting to see celebrity couples dressing alike.
EEK! There’s the Unregistered Version Mark on it. Please don’t report me, I got these images straight from 425 Magazine. Get your latest issue now. Here is a glimpse of just various street looks I chose with my 425 photographer Rodrigo deMendeiros at the Bravern and the Bellevue Collection.
Let me know if you got the latest copy and what you think!
Okay. I’m not a fan of these, but I get how comfortable these sheepskin boots lined with wool on the inside and with a tanned outer surface called Uggs are. What I hate most are Uggs that are worn in the summer (hence previous post). I understand that these boots keep your feet warm in the cold, but they’re not to be worn as a trendy item.
Nicole Richie made it as cover of ViVi Magazine, a Japanese fashion magazine for issue October 2009. Despite the fact that I can’t read in Japanese, the styles throughout the magazine made it worth the $14 I spent at Uwajimaya Seattle. I can’t seem to figure out what it is, but the Japanese people are bold with their styles and know what is in style.
Nicole Richie is on the cover wearing a bow, similar to the Louis Vuitton F/W head pieces and Marc Jacob S/S 2010 Runway in addition to the editorial of NR in studded thigh-high boots.
The past weekend I went out for some birthdays and events in my Missoni-Wolford leggings. It was seriously the talk of the town! Everyone made a witty comment about them. Maybe because I was surrounded by dudes that are techy or what-not, but overall, I didn’t get a good response.
So apparently they’re more of a bold fashion statement than anything, but I was shocked. I didn’t know it stood out that much.
What do you think? If you saw a girl wear them would you think they’re nasty? If you were a girl, would you wear them? Do they look that weird?
It has come to my attention (again) that the Eastside is not a very walking friendly city. It has grown to depend more on pubic transportation compared to previous years and possibly biking for some of us, but other than that driving is our primary form of transportation, am i wrong?
Therefore why is it so hard to spot heels? Women are all wearing flats. The only flat sporters that I approve of are those in retail or any form of job that requires standing for long hours or senior citizens.
We don’t see many suspenders and tophats around here on the Eastside. If anything Capital Hill is all about this Broadway actor look, but do you think you can handle this?
Something about this look says that you care about your looks and has this artsi-ness. You love drama and you appreciate creativity.
An outfit like this is very complete. Would a techy Expedia or Microsoft employee rock it? Probably not. It’s not for everyone. To pull off this outfit, there must be a bit of confidence in that man and possibly some bravery.
