Grammy 2010 Red Carpet Thoughts?

As the after party is currently taking place, I just had to share my 2 cents about the best looks of the night…

Fergie played it safe with a good cobalt blue and metallics. There’s nothing bad to say about her look down the red carpet.

Keri Hilson could have controlled her bust a bit, but her simple look will survive the fashion police. I liked everything about it. Hair, minimal jewelry and the flaunting of the curves was done perfectly.

Marie Claire Scores for February 2010

If you didn’t know already, I’m a HUGE fan of Nicole Richie. In the UK Marie Claire, they had an editorial with Nicole Richie. She looks great after 2 kids. Nicole Richie will always be known for her modern rocker chic. Since she is so petit she looks adorable in anything.

As for the Italia Marie Claire February 2010, their editorial section was full of the latest Spring Trends! That means: Statement Jewelry, One Shoulder, Boyfriend Clothing, Sheer and Geometric Shapes are here to stay.

Bellevue Fashion Week & Seattle Fashion Week 2010

Connected by 2 bridges, (I-90 and 520) and only 10 miles apart is the life of 2 very different Fashion Weeks. As the term ‘fashion’ is becoming more common in the language spoken here in the northwest, the terminology ‘Fashion Week’ is yet to be established in a more reputable manner.

I feel as if there is a lot of hesitation and ignorance happening with these Fashion Weeks by the locals or the acceptance of a non-fashion society that is slowly making its way to becoming a city or region of the country where fashion is developing and maturing is still yet to happen.

Forever 21 Changed Shopping Forever.

When an average piece of clothing at Forever 21 only costs you $20, why would you want to spend $50, $80 or even over $100 on that similar piece or even dress.

In this consumeristic American culture where clothing is a disposable consumption, why splurge on your entire wordrobe when you can budget it out better?

I’m assuming that no one really has an entire wardrobe of only Forever 21, H&M or Target pieces, but they do take up space in your closet.

Miss Sena Yang of Bellevue is Making It Big in NYC

Making big things happen. As I’ve previously mentioned Sena Yang and her new Spring 2010 line I’ve got the pleasure of meeting her and the opportunity to do an interview on her while I met her for the first time over the holidays.

Describe your early life in Bellevue and how do you want your upbringing to play out in your design in terms of collection and the direction of where your line is heading.

I commuted to high school in Seattle while living in Bellevue.

James Dean Inspired Gucci Men Spring 2010

I don’t know if you will agree with me, but I feel like the Gucci Collection for men had a minor inspiration from James Dean. If James Dean were to be alive in year 2010, I could see him wearing Gucci Spring/Summer Collection 2010.

The collection is cool, edgy yet laid back. I could see each of the models on the catwalk with a bud in their mouth.

Since the late James Dean is not here to wear this collection, we have Scot Disdick (HAHAH!)

Finally Watched Emanuel Ungaro with LiLo

I was actually really hesitant to even watch the show after all the negative press that Ungaro was receiving for appointing Lindsay Lohan as the new Artistic Director.

Then here’s her interview as people try to create dirt on the collaboration of Emanuel Ungaro and Lindsay Lohan.

I can see where the editors are coming from. Nothing on the runway could be used in editorials, but I believe that there is a market out there for sparkly pasties and super short hot pink dresses.
