Blog Meet Blog, Needle+Thread’s Event
Made in China. (GASP)!
Back to the Deluxe book I’m crazy about. Almost done, but I have to write a blog about it before my ADHD kicks in and I completely forget.
I know MANY luxury goods are manufactured in China, but even so I ignored it and didn’t really think about it. The book made a clear point about it that really stuck to me. Read the excerpt from below…
Celebrity Fashion
Celebrity street fashion, red carpet fashion, screen fashion, everything they wear is much more influential than the styles from the fashion models (with the exception of Kate Moss).
I think this country really admires the styles of their favorite celebrities. I don’t blame them.
Giorgio Armani used celebrities to make him who he is now and Anna Wintour opted from fashion models to celebrities to make Vogue what it is now…
The question now is…
“what are they wearing?”
Intarsia Marcia!
Intarsia: knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colours. As with the woodworking technique of the same name, fields of different colours and materials appear to be inlaid in one another, but are in fact all separate pieces, fit together like a jigsaw puzzle (wikipedia).
Well Guys and Gals! It’s the look for the season. It’s in the mass marketing level as you can tell from the Gap F/W 2009 looks. I love it so much. It’s so vintage, yet not. I bet some even have fun stories to share. If you still didn’t get rid of your sweater, pull it out and make it 2009.
