Yes. I’m going to do some criticizing, more like constructive criticism for the locals… so that we don’t act like a fool.
The example that I would like to use is She by Sheree from the Bravo TV hit show Real Houewives of Atlanta. (For you long term followers of VueSociety, you’re probably already aware of how addicted I am to Bravo TV from my previous Miami Social post).
My point is that She By Sheree had her fair share of needs improvement factors into her show that aired on the season finale of the RHWA.
Let’s begin first with what went well.
Dwight Eubanks-AKA: the 6th Housewives’ offering of help was for her success. His tips on more bold jewelry and more fur only made her show a ‘success.’
White background on the runway-Yea, keep it simple. No projector screen.
Pointing out on some considerations…
The fact that Sheree never had any fashion background-Okay, I get that you didn’t have any fashion background except your boutique that is apparently now closed, but don’t preach that you are some fashion guru. Do not state that you are a designer. That is an overstatement. I did not see you hand sew one hem.
Personal life- Yes, we know about your sour divorce and foreclosure on your mansion, but you do not to use that to receive sympathy points on your new fashion line. Keep personal life and work life separate as necessary.
Dwight Eubanks’ aggressiveness- There is no doubt that DE is an aggressive fella that should let She by Sheree lead and execute her own vision, but at the same time if you need help you need to accept it and be open for ideas.
Things that need improvement (this, you must read for you Eastside/Seattle fashion show producers or designers)
Designer/Producer’s duty- Is not to get your hair woven on the day of the show. Your job is to be backstage looking at every model and making sure that they’re styled appropriately. No one can careless what you look like. Like, really. You have other industry days to prove yourself.
You got to be more on top of the show- The show may have shown a varying side of the truth, but Sheree seemed to be very out of the loop, not having anything to do with what is going on whether it begins with front row seating to guest list to what jewelry each model was going to rock.
Check the quality of each garment- DE did stress the hems and the seams of Lisa Wu Hartwell’s show. It is because it can make or break the quality of the garment seen by spectators. Details matter in this industry. The fabric may look cheaper than you actually paid for so check the lighting and make sure the fabric is QUALITY.
Be true to your brand- If you say that your product is for the independent, strong, confident, classy, elegant, sophisticated, etc. make sure that your collection exemplifies these qualities. If not, then you’re a HOT MESS.
Stay ‘cohesive’- DE accused Lisa of not being ‘cohesive enough.’ Well I have to agree with Lisa, Sheree isn’t that much more cohesive either. It was a lost cause. Where is her inspiration? There is no storyline. Who is her target market? You just gotta have one vision. If a magazine were to ask where your inspiration grew from, you better have a darn good answer.
Okay, I’m done criticing. Now for all the future fashion shows that I attend, it must make me proud! I am easily pleased, but loves to complement when exceeds my expectations. I love a well done anything fashion. Bars higher for future fashion shows now that Bellevue Fashion Show had a successful week.

LOLOL!!! I like the Real Housewives series… For some odd reason, Sheree looks obscenely large in that dress. “details matter in this industry” — absolutely. that’s why I even carry around a mini sewing kit just in case, I have a mishap while on the streets… sometimes, I shouldn’t even carry it when i go out. I usually end up stabbing myself with the needle. LOL!
Youre hilarious. There are some fashion shows coming up in the greater puget sound and i can’t wait to see themmm :)
