Q: Pencil Skirts and Boots?

miu-miu-sequin-platform-pumpsHey Rachel,

I have become an avid reader of vuesociety and always look forward to your posts! I just recently moved to the east side, so it’s really nice being able to have somewhere to turn for the latest and greatest fashion stories and advice. This is probably going to sound like a weird question, but what is your opinion on pencil skirts and boots? I haven’t quite figured out if I’d be able to pull it off haha or if it’d look tacky. I’d love your opinion if you have time :) thanks in advance! And keep up the great work :)

Katie

boot skirtI always get excited to read e-mail from readers. To answer Katie’s question, I can see where the word tacky came from because it’s a real funky combination.

For this particular season, I would opt out of knee high boots only because it makes your bottom half look really heavy. Depending on how short your pencil skirt may sit, I would shoot for booties (I can see why you would want boots, the rain).

Also, I’m not a huge fan of thigh high boots and pencil skirts. It may have been more acceptable previous seasons, but now is the time to show off those colored leggings and some leg.

If you click on the image, it will tell you where each product is from. Just by looking at the images, none of the skirts are paired up with knee high boots.

I hope that answers your question. Good luck! :)
