What Is Your Definition Of Luxury?
To your surprise, I read a lot of books. Usually about 5 at a time. Ones that interest me I can get through within a week. If they’re a bit on the bore, it may take me a couple of months. Previously, I have shared my interest with the book Why We Buy and have recommended to anyone who sells or buys (which may be those that this blog is targeted towards).
I have just started reading Deluxe; How Luxury Lost Its Luster by Dana Thomas and so far it’s been thought provoking. I’d like to share a little excerpt of an early chapter…
Olsen Twins Add JCP To Fashion Resume
The Olsen Twins are expanding their fashion empire from Elizabeth and James, the Row, with dresses, RTW, sunglasses and now to a juniors’ line called Olsenboye available at JCPenney.
According to “the Cut” the site doesn’t appear to be up yet. But if the line is in previews now, it must be slated for a spring launch. The Olsens join the elite ranks of fellow JCPenney designers Kimora Lee Simmons and Charlotte Ronson. If the line is like an affordable version of the Row or Elizabeth & James, JCPenney just got a whole lot cooler.
Eastside Chapter of GPH in terms of style…
Last night was my second GPH event. I’ve been to one in Seattle over the summer and yesterday’s launch of the Eastside chapter was my second attendance. The event itself was great. The location was beautiful, at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland and so many women attended. A much free spirited, laid-back vibe more so than in Seattle (in my opinion).
I even want to go ahead and say that the crowd was younger and more stylish. How were the women styled? It helps that a group of Nordstrom personal stylists and sales associates made the crowd more fashionable, but overall I saw a lot of great boots (hence the rain), beautiful statement necklaces and great scarves.
