“I’m SHOCKED Kemper!”

the vault bellevue waI wrote a previous post about all these things going on at Bellevue Square with a pondering question of what the Vault was. Oh My Gash! I figured out what the Vault is and I can’t close my dropped jaw.

So David Lawrence wants out and the Vault moves in. Are you kidding? Really? Bebe’s not at the mall anymore, but the Vault is coming in?

I am having a difficult time comprehending or making any sense in this, can someone help?

Okay, you’re probably wondering by this point, what VAULT is. Boy, let me be the one to tell you.

guido 411We are talking Guido Attraction. Want to know what a guido is? I first became exposed to this term when I lived in NY and all these guido-esque boys from Staten Island and Strong Island (guido for Long Island) were partying it up in the City.  (click that guido img for a better idea. you will die laughing).

We are looking at Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier, sparkle, and cleavage. I even wrote a past post about where NOT to get graphic T’s and these are the labels I were referring to…

They are sister stores with Bad Reputation in Seattle. I think I just tasted throw up in my mouth. Check out the Vault-About Us section. I can’t even figure out how they can be represented here in the Eastside. Is there a new Guido crowd that just migrated into the Eastside that I didn’t get a memo for?

Like hello! Someone clue me in. I don’t get it!!!

Dear Mr. Kemper and of the Bellevue Collection Staff, is this a way of representing the classiness of the Bellevue Square transformation? I was ecstatic to see Michael Kors, Hugo Boss and Burberry make it’s presence in the Nordstrom wing, but there is just something utterly wrong about bringing this retailer here to Bellevue.

Am I the only one that feels this way? May all the hate comments come in. Let me hear your thoughts!

(I don’t want to see cleavage and bikini tops and sunglasses being worn indoors take over the Eastside, do you? Please tell me if I’m a hater…I just want honesty)

  1. I am not shocked at all. People in Seattle can usually point out an Eastsider by their tribal tattoo, Affliction shirt and Tap Out hat. I’ve gone out to enough bars in Kirkland to verify this. Yes! There is a market on the Eastside for stuff like this.

  2. I completely agree with you. The addition of The Vault will not help to elevate the Bellevue Collection but will instead bring it down a notch. If I’m not mistaken, I believe the new store will go in the “teen wing”, aiming to attract a younger audience. I just hope this isn’t a sign of desperation from BC.

  3. OMG! I’m appalled by this “guido look”. I’ve seen it many times in the east coast but please, NOT HERE!! This is Bellevue not Kirkland. I think guys/girls that dress like that are hideous. I mean besides my idea of fugly UGG boots, this is my second most worst. I guess it gives me more of a passion to post more hideous guido pics. LOL

  4. Now, I agree with Mango’s comment in the previous post. The Bravern is trying to separate their high end retail shoppers from the “commoners”.

  5. Hahahaha

“Is there a new Guido crowd that just migrated into the Eastside that I didn’t get a memo for?”

You know… I had this friend who dated a Russian from Bellevue – apparently he had some like… Russian “mafia” group over there? Those guys…. kinda looked like guidos.

  6. No Way!!! Eastsiders dont wear the tribal tattoo :( I don’t want there to be a market like this on the Eastside:( poop

  7. My point exactly. It’s unfortunate to see such stooping down this low for what I think in my opinion is in desperate seek to occupy all that retail space. BC was on a winning streak and now all of a sudden SLAMMED with this nonsense. I am disgusted.

  8. I’m not hating on guidos. Don’t mistaken me. I have friends that are guido, not to the extreme of that pix above but the fact that I am not aware of this market here and in addition to may be not wanting that market to rise is where my frustration lies.

The Eastside was more sophisticated (I thought…)

  10. That’s just comforting… can’t wait to see more ceiling punching steroided dudes roaming around Bellevue.

  11. Whoa… I was almost slipping over the large amount of hair product that seems to be dripping off Guido-cus Maximus in that pic! I don’t go out often on weekends, but I must say, last Saturday I was surprised at the small roving herds of douchers roaming the Bvue nightlife spots. I felt like I needed to shoot them with tranquilizer darts and release them in a more hospitable, sparkly environment.

  12. At least this branding seems a bit elevated than the Seattle store…I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the assortment is who they’re targeting. But on the surface, it doesn’t fit with my expectations of Bellevue Collection.

  13. Girl! That’s what I’m saying. It was definitely a shocker. No doubt that there are an array of store concepts at BS, but if that was the case then why does rumor have it that bebe left? Not that I’m not a fan of bebe but BEBE > ED HARDY…..

    We’ll have to wait. You’re right….

  20. I wonder what section of the mall they’ll be at…. I hope it doesn’t take up DL’s old spot… or will it? ahhh! I hope someone else snatches up that spot. Either a North face store or a M.A.C. store. like the one from Southcenter… or even a bellevue boutique store should move there! Or am I delusional?

    Comment by eddie — October 9, 2009 @ 12:44 pm
  21. NO NORTH FACE LOL
its actually gonna be next to Macy’s on the 2nd floor

  22. So much hate from everyone. Though I’m not a fan of the look at all, this is not such a big deal. There is no need to worry about the “image” of BC and discriminate, saying it’ll be dropped a peg. The image of BC isn’t that great anyway…. some see it as for snobby rich assholes. In fact, this will serve BC well as it adds diversity. Also, I would say being a Burberry whore is equally as disgusting as donning the guido look.

It is worth visiting EVERY store and truly stylish people know this. They can find and incorporate almost any piece into a stylish look. Diversity is key to unique style. I even have an Ed Hardy belt that looks amazing with some of my looks because it expresses the crazy, artistic part of me.

View this store opening as an opportunity to experience something new or to learn to tolerate ugly clothing and focus more on developing your own style instead of drinking haterade and being negative :)

With that said, I leave you with, “Let’s burn all of the world’s Uggs.” That’s the only one thing that can never look stylish.

  23. Yes, it does raise diversity amongst varying styles which would be nice to see in BC, but at the same time the idea of creating this idea of ‘luxury’ and being very selective in allowing certain retailers come and others go doesn’t seem to make much sense to me.

If BC was to allow a retailer like such, where is H&M, Forever 21, etc? It’s a huge shocker for BC to put them in the mall and not have the mass marketers like Zara even come in… HMMMM

Thanks for being so open minded ;) I love your profound thoughts

    Comment by admin — October 12, 2009 @ 8:47 pm
  24. Great point! So you don’t consider Ed Hardy luxury? Maybe a different style of luxury perhaps?

Wish I could see what goes on in choosing what stores to have in BC. Zara would be nice. I would love to see a Ben Sherman store and a Benetton also.

    Comment by thebespokebrandofyou — October 13, 2009 @ 12:46 am
  25. Omg. I would like to see some NEW retailers that aren’t here in the NW at BC. We can only wait and see.

You should sign my petition to bring Zara to Bellevue. It’s on the right side bar ;)

  27. My boyfriend is from Long Island, and we have to laugh at this! The stereotype is so true, and this only reminds me of that “New Haircut” video. We were at Bellevue Square last weekend, and we saw a ton of guys with muscle tanks and bald heads with crazy Long Island accents. Where are they coming from?!

  28. I’m from Roslyn, NY so I can relate… I have yet to see this group of dudes. Can’t wait..

  29. I went and saw it, there’s hardly any Ed Hardy. Have you seen it? What are your thoughts?

    Comment by My thoughts — November 19, 2009 @ 1:12 pm
  30. Yes, I didn’t see any Ed Hardy, but the likes of Skulls and Hearts were there. It looks like a haunted house … no?
