Our Differences Unite Us
Edited by Fashion Pulse Daily
Coming off of Ashe Mischief’s Independent Fashion Blogger’s Post (Good Cop/Bad Cop: Participating in Links a la Mode), you all brought your A-game in posting the links a la mode — which made it extra hard to edit! This week, the theme that I saw emerging throughout the posts is one of celebrating our unique diversity; each site has a different take and approach to fashion, art, beauty, media, lifestyle, music – you name it! From the dry shampoo trials at Dramatis Personae to Le Petite Cecile‘s observations regarding the bleached eyebrow trend, you all brought a new perspective to each topic at hand, a sign that indicates how wonderful and creative the blogosphere truly is. Get even more excited for Halloween with cmykaboom and Idiosyncratic Style costume suggestions that are sure to make you smile, along with DenimDebutante‘s discovery of the “zipholder”. All in all, one things’ for certain: we’ve got an amazing community of bloggers!

My Favorite Stylist at the Bellevue Nordstrom sent me an e-mail stating that…

Last night was the David Meister fall collection showing at the Bravern’s Neiman Marcus. David is a young designer with a keen, skill level for clothing construction.
He already has his collection in major department stores nationwide including our very own Nordstrom, as well as Saks, Bergdorf Goodman and Lord & Taylor. He knows how to find comfort yet elegance to work together.
All of his pieces fit quite comfortably and is sophisticated. David believes in well made pieces that can work from season to season. (That’s just perfect for this economic state).

Lace, sheer, nude, lingerie and nylon is huge this season. Here is a look to keep this trend this season without looking borderline showgirl. It’s never attractive to be too ‘showy’ so if you are wearing a lace top, then wear leggings, if you’re wearing sheer black leggings, cover up everything above the waist. For this look, I’d recommend booties.
Yes, it’s pretty cold outside so grab a boyriend blazer with strong shoulders or a sequin one. Pick out some strong jewelry and you can look edgy this season.

In my eyes, these pieces can never go wrong in my book. A quality, well made sweater or knit thrown on with a nice sports coat, slimming pants with great shoes. Can you see a professionally wearing a look like this here? Never.
I am really into this fall look for men this season. It’s hard to spot them. Will someone help me?
Now we can only wait… so meanwhile, sign the petition…
My favorite Bellevue website DTbellevue.com just released a post about Hermes’ opening! May your bank breaking begin!! Check their site for the details!

Here is an idea of what kind of dresses Meister designs. It’s elegant, classy and perfect for the Eastside sophisticated woman and her holiday soirees.

In the recent October issue of the InStyle magazine, we got a peak into the Grammy Award winner, Christina Aguilera’s closet. Take a look…

Does anyone here on the Eastside have an expansive closet like hers? Please share with us…
If you don’t own this wrap already, I suggest you get it. The ones I own is from BCBG called the cardi-wrap made of 100% cashmere. I regret getting the cashmere because for half the price you can get it from DKNY made of cotton that you can throw into the wash as for the cashmere one, you must dry clean it.

It’s a cardigan that can be wrapped in various ways. As you can see from the DKNY Fall 2009 ad, they are pushing for the wrap. Get yours… you’ll wear it with everything…
