Before I get onto dissecting of what I think of the show, I want to clearly state that I am not a fashion show guru; these are just opinions from a fashion lover that’s been to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Shows in NY.
Prior to attending any fashion show here in WA, I didn’t expect much from Seattle or the Eastside. I actually didn’t expect it to even come close to the shows and parties that I’ve been exposed to.
The honest truth is that I have been hearing much negativity towards fashion shows here in the Greater Puget Sound area, not particularly Nordstrom but other fashion shows which even lessened my expectations for the fashion show I just attended.
Nordstrom Bellevue Square hosts a Sold Out Fall Runway show at Bellevue Fashion Week to benefit Detlef Schrempf Foundation.
Approximately 500 guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and on-site boutique shopping along with a runway fashion show featuring the fall 2009 collections from DVF, Elizabeth and James, Haute Hippe, Hugo Boss, Leifsdotter, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Milly, Rag & Bone and Vince.
Tickets for the event were $150 for VIP access including runway seating and $50 for general admission. Proceeds from all ticket sales benefit the DS Foundation.
Sydneylovesfashion introduced me to Looklet after my Polyvore post and I’m just testing it out… As I should be getting ready for the Nordstrom Fashion show, I played with the site a bit. What do you think?

If I looked like that I’d probably wear that too. ;)
Okay, I’m off to getting ready for the Nordstrom Fashion Show!
My dear reader friend Mango had suggested the following…
“Hey admin, here is another topic – How trendy can be a man without crossing on the “other side”? For example in the last issue of GQ, the Burberrry ad shows guys wearing lipstick…. I personally find that many man will oppose style and beauty procedures because they feel this will send a wrong message about their orientation.”
Before I dive into this topic, I can’t stress to push for attitude when it comes to style and wear. If you wanted to wear slimming pants with boots and a super tight pima cotton t-shirt, your confidence and attitude is half the story of interpretation.
I fell in love with this video because of the Elgar Cello Concerto, second movement. I never made it to try to play the second movement, but did try the first movement.
Aside from my dorkestra side, back to the video. It is for thecorner.com, the virtual space showcasing “mini-stores” from artisans and cutting-edge brands, launched the women collections on September 9th with the Fashion Film ”Portent” created exclusively for thecorner.com by the famous fotographer Nick Knight & SHOWstudio.
Not sure if Ferragamo is for the straight? Well here is someone to prove your point. Hugh Jackman is wearing a charcoal grey 3-piece custom-made suit, to the opening night of his Broadway play “A Steady Rain” at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Tuesday, September 29th in New York.
Can’t wait for the movie to come out, but on a style note he looks amazing.
Sick of flat ironing your hair every day? Fearful that the Seattle rain will make your waves rear their unruly head? Stop denying your curls and embrace them! The Deva Curl line was created by Lorraine Massey, author of the book Curly Girl. Come and let our very own designer, Linda Jacobs, walk you through a new way to love your curls with these amazing products. For other events for the week.
What a great night to kick off Bellevue Fashion Week with the film ‘September Issue’ by R.J. Cutler. During the press conference with Cutler, he had mentioned that Anna was quite a private person and that ‘you had to see the film.’ I concur with that statement. You have to watch the film. It gives you a very real perspective of the fashion industry.
Cutler is one lucky man. Anna has allowed Cutler and his small team to document the life of Anna, Vogue and the September Issue. You think you know fashion? You don’t until you watch the film.
