Move Over Project Runway

…we have Product Runway here. Since it is an Eastside blog, of course I have to choose the Eastside group to represent, JPC Architects + Statements Tile whom formed a design partnership to participate in the industry’s most fashionable event, Product Runway.

The group is complete with the following professionals, the best in the industry:

  • Rebecca Durr –Interior Designer, NCIDQ
  • Jill Reid –Statements Tile Rep, LEED AP
  • Becky Dail –Interior Designer, strong sewing background – grew up sewing with her grandmother
  • Sharon Simas –Team’s Student – graduated from BCC in the spring, strong sewing background, also grew up learning to sew with her grandmother
  • Kara Miotke –Interior Designer
  • Brooke Prince –Interior Designer
  • Amy Axley –Interior Designer, LEED AP
  • Maria Scott –Interior Designer, LEED AP
  • Amanda Hyman –Marketing, LEED AP

The competition is tough but JPC+ST is here to up the challenge with its members’ strong backgrounds.

What makes the group different from others? Our teamwork and enthusiasm.  Everyone has been really involved throughout the process. We immediately jumped into the process, throwing ideas out and building and elaborating on other team member’s ideas. We are a completely cohesive team, using everyone’s strengths and pushing our design to an amazing level. We are all in awe of what we have accomplished thus far and entirely excited for the main event.

What were the materials delegated for your project? Porcelain and Glass Tile and Mesh Backing

Being one of the few groups from the Eastside, will there be any elements that may display that in the final piece? We look out our windows each day from our offices in downtown Bellevue. We see fashion rising right out of the ground with new places like The Bravern being built.  Fashion is definitely being infused into downtown Bellevue.  Our piece doesn’t necessarily incorporate any elements from the Eastside, but it does reflect high fashion and architecture.

Awesome! Definitely one of the perks of being in the growing city of beautiful Bellevue!

What inspired your piece? Born from last year’s Product Runway show, the central concept for this year’s piece has not wavered since then. Implemented and contextualized, the original idea has remained the most obvious expression of the piece.

victoriabeckhamwhiteWho do you see wearing this piece? (any tv personality, character, etc) We could see Victoria Beckham wearing it – It’s edgy, geometric with architectural lines in its shape and form.

Now, who doesn’t love Victoria Beckham?

What was your vision and has it been the same since you started planning? Our Concept Statement:  JPC Architects and Statements Distinctive Stone & Tile reflect on high fashion; as a physical design seeks to animate the narcissistic love of one’s own mirror image.

Who has the fashion touch of the members in the group? We all have the fashion touch and our unique style. Our team collaboration has proven strong results.

What is the designer’s specialty? We are fashion forward, problem-solving designers. At the office, we specialize in designing corporate interiors.

Wow, great group with such passion and skills. May the best team win! I am personally rooting for JPC+SD :)

Here’s a sneak peak of their design…

  2. Thanks for the note about Statements. We have enjoyed participating in Product Runway, both for the opportunity to support the creative community in Seattle and to share an evening with some of Seattle’s funnest people.
