…for Men! In the Eastside, we have a very limited retail selection when it comes to buying white dress shirts, especially for the guys.
Here are some suggestions for the classic white shirt that is more casual, fitting the Eastside culture. The following are pieces that are found online, not in any local retail stores here in the Eastside. Hopefully, it will become your favorite white shirt. To find the perfect one you are going to have to try them on.
Thomas Pink-White Eaton Slim Fit Men’s Shirt
Thomas Mason for J.Crew-point collar dress shirt
Armani Collezioni-Classic Shirt
Prada-pointed collar dress shirt

Do not forget my timeless favorite, John Varvatos. I wasn’t able to find it online, but it is an all time classic.
There are other great shirts out there. Just remember that it is okay to splurge on white dress shirts because you’ll be wearing one for the rest of the time you’re on this planet. Clothes don’t last forever, but investing in a classic shirt manufactured with superb quality will pay off at the end. It’s smart to find one that works for you early on, so that you don’t have to shop around later in the future. That’s when you won’t find it. (Also, if you find one now you’re set for life; that is if your body doesn’t fluctuate that much as you get older.)
Here are some things to keep in mind to help you find the shirt that works best for you.
+Make sure the girth of your neck and sleeve length is measured properly by the tailor/salesperson assisting you.
+The underarm comfort is most important. If it feels tight, you probably don’t want to keep it.
+Raise your arms, you don’t want the tail flipping out of your pants, flex like you’re hulk to see if the shirt allows you to move your arms, slouch, reach… but basically see if you can use your arms.
+Does the shirt look cheap? If your initial reaction is yes, don’t get it. Do you want to look cheap? I hope not. If so, skip this blog entry and read the next.
+Buttons can make or break any garment. Check it out. What do you think of the quality of the button? Use your best judgment.
+The direction the collar points is a personal preference. Don’t neglect it.
+And don’t roll your sleeves. You look like a blue collar worker in a white shirt. Be Wise.
All in all, it is important to find one that fits you and your style best. Find one and stick to it unless super tight, super loose, or transparent. Woven or not, it has to be in style and it is your thing to be ‘fashionable.’ But other than that, I don’t recommend it.
If you are unsure, ask for a girl friend’s point of view. Sometimes it is nice to get a female’s opinion. They’re the ones looking at you anyways, right?

This is only for skinny people huh?
No. Opera singers aren’t skinny and they wear white dress shirts that fit them right. You can too FRANCOIS.
[...] Apparently, they have the best white button up shirts. Are you a fan of Thomas Pink? [...]
